Middle 19th Century. The stipple and line aquatint engraving after the original painting by George Caleb Bingham (1811-1879) is lettered Painted by G. C. Bingham lower left and Engraved by Gautier below the image lower right, center below the image lettered New York - Published By Fishel, Adler & Schwartz 94 Fulton St. This composition from Bingham's Election Series of the 1850s documents various strata of American society brought together to participate in the election process.
