A South German half armour, late 16th century The ridged skull of the blackened burgonet forged in one piece, with a turned peak and neck guard, this with an old repair. The hinged cheek pieces possibly replaced, several original lining rivets still on the inside. Height 28 cm. The gorget sliding on three lames and opening on a hinge, with turned and flanged edges, attached to full arm defences, both with pauldrons sliding on six lames, these also with flanged edges, closed rerebraces with ridged couters and hinged vambraces, the fingered gauntlets with metacarpi sliding on five lames (defects on the fingers and thumbs). Heavy, ridged breastplate. The neck opening and arm holes with turned flanges. The short tassets sliding on five lames, curved en suite. Height approx. 98 cm.
