A distinguished set of German cutlery with amber knobs, probably Koenigsberg, 2nd half of the 17th century The knife with a simple, single-edged blade, a three-pronged silver fork. Both pieces with an octagonal ferrule and chased balusters. The handles made of light-coloured, translucent horn, finely carved knobs in dark amber. The matching sheath made of fire-gilt brass, finely engraved with openwork tendrils and floral decoration. The sides with appliqués in delicate, openwork horn. A vacant coat of arms cartouche under a crown on the front. Minor flaws and replacements in places. Two small carrying loops with cord attached at the side. Length of the knife 19 cm, the fork 17.5 cm, total length including case 27.5 cm. Condition: II -
