An early Austrian/Hungarian hussar's sabre, mid-17th century Slightly curved, single-edged blade, the surface pitted, with a broad, double-edged point and three shallow fullers on both sides. The root fullered at the back of the blade. The extended, octagonal iron quillons with a long crosspiece. The grip covered in black leather over cord winding covered, the leather worn through here and there. A fluted iron grip rivet on both sides. Iron pommel cap with a lozenge-shaped top plate. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with iron furniture, two movable suspension rings at the side. Length 89 cm.Condition: II -
