A French silver-mounted court sword with scabbard, circa 1760 The Spanish blade with fullers on both sides almost to the point, with decorative floral etching on both sides of the base. Inscribed "MADRIT G- TOMAS DATALE" in the fullers (rubbed in places). The silver knuckle-bow hilt decorated in relief with openwork trophy bundles and rocailles, still bearing remnants of the partial gilding. The grip wrapped with corded copper and brass wire. The leather-covered wooden scabbard a replacement, with original, chased silver fittings on the front. The locket shortened, the top of the pommel slightly dented at the hilt.
