A Hungarian silver-mounted magnate‘s sabre set with stones, 19th century Curved single-edged blade with double-edged point decorated on both sides with engraved stars and trophy bundles. On the back of the blade maker’s inscription "Guillaume Knecht Fabriquant a Solingen". Florally chased and engraved silver hilt, the obverse with applied silver filigree set with emeralds, diamonds and a ruby. Velvet-covered wooden scabbard with three silver mounts chased en suite, each with domed decorative element on the obverse. Velvet cover with later replacement, one suspension bar missing, the chase burst on one side. Length 96 cm.Condition: II -
