The decorative certificate with black and red text and a coloured gold depiction of the badge of honour, issued in Berlin on 23 May 1944 with a blind embossed seal and the signature of Reichsleiter Baldur von Schirach in ink. Dimensions approx. 29.5 x 20.7 cm. The Golden Hitler Youth Badge of Honour with a border of oak leaves was awarded approx. 400 times to non-members or, before the special badge was instituted, to foreigners.This certificate was presented by von Manteuffel personally to a French collector (see pencilled notes) in the 1960s.
