此瓶形制稳重，通体黄釉地暗刻狮子纹，其上以素三彩描绘细节，做太狮少狮纹饰，丰富的色彩配合灵动的纹饰，使得装饰效果更加强烈与出色，为清代素三彩精品。狮子与虎一样，在百兽中也称之王，被以借代象征人世的权势、富贵。官府门前狮子左边代表“太师”，右边的狮子代表“少师”，又因“狮”与“师”同音，古代官制有太师、少师之职。太师为三公子一，少师为三孤之一，都是指导、辅弼天子皇上为政的高官。明清补服的补子绣有狮子，为二品武官。“大”与“太”似音，“小”与“少”似音，“狮”与“师”同音。故而大小狮子喻太师、少师，寓世世代代高官厚禄。是中国古代经典纹饰。
