Description
Translation provided by Youdao
A fine Maya cylinder from El Salvador, ca. 400 - 700 AD. It is 6-3/4 inches high, 5 inches in diameter and features four panels with deeply carved linear designs. The broad rim band retains remains of creatures painted in blue over the red stucco, with the vertical stucco columns between the black panels also showing remnants of designs. There is an old field repair, else it's in good condition, with heavy mineral deposits and much of the rare red and blue stucco remaining. (MA1673)
