Hugues D'Hancarville 〔法〕法国卡普里1784年Chez Sabellus出版精装一册提要：拍品为法文书，皮面精装，五层竹节背书脊，书脊处烫金书名并花纹，三面彩画口。此书共有五十个章节，每个章节前都有一个作者，同时也是整本书的设计、编辑达卡维尔创作的木刻版画。这些版画取材于18世界中期在罗马发现的宝石雕画中，并用古典作家的名言加以插图和点缀。作者全名皮埃尔·弗朗索瓦·胡格斯·达卡维尔（Pierre Francois Hugues D'Hancarville，1719-1805），18世纪欧洲冒险家与艺术史家，出生于法国南锡，精通数学、历史和各类学科，从事艺术收藏与交易，也是出色的书籍设计家。曾为苏格兰名门贵族威廉·汉密尔顿所藏希腊古瓮和陶瓶等藏品制作图录。拍品创作于同一时间。
