A Chinese porcelain 'Gu' shaped vase, early Kangxi / Transitional period, circa 1670, decorated in underglaze blue with a continuous frieze of a prunus tree, flowers and birds, six character mark to side, with borders to the rim and foot, top rim 18.7cm (7.4 inches) wide by 42.7cm (16.8 inches) high. Provenance: Private UK Collection; having been in the vendor's family for at least 100 years. Condition Report: overall in good condition however there is a chip to the top rim 5 by 7mm at widest with hairline cracks issuing from it, some further hairline cracks through the glaze, and various frit firing marks overall - the lot images show all these very well.
