题识：乙卯二月偶与晳子先生论左氏得失，恨不能畅，因作小诗以备之，即呈一哂，师培。 钤印：申叔之印 上款人或为近代知名学者，政治活动家杨度。刘师培（1884-1919），字申叔，号左庵，江苏仪征人。任北京大学文科教授，1919年与黄侃等成立「国故月刊社」，成为国粹派，在北大主导发起《国故学刊》。
