此品以白玉为料，圆雕狮子绣球，质地温润如凝脂。所雕小狮双目圆凸，嘴衔飘带，双爪抱绣球，欲作扑腾状，神态活泼娇憨。局部鬃毛刻画细腻，线条圆柔。狮子，古称狻猊，佛教中为释迦左臂侍文殊菩萨坐骑。民间以其形态威猛，又有辟邪镇宅之意。绣球是用丝织品仿绣球花制作的圆球，古代视为吉祥喜庆之品。据《汉书·礼乐志》，汉代民间流行“狮舞”，两人合扮一狮，一人持彩球逗之，上下翻腾跳跃，活泼有趣，狮子绣球纹即起源于此，寓祛灾祈福之意。来源：邦瀚斯拍卖
