此件白玉卧羊摆件取整块和阗玉料圆雕而成，包浆醇厚，局部带红褐色沁斑。玉羊造型写实，作伏卧回首状，身躯浑圆饱满。四足跪卧，前足屈收，后足贴于体侧，羊首硕大，双眼有神，鼻口刻画简洁生动。羊角粗壮有力，后翘弯曲，装饰螺纹。大处简练，小处精秀，神态刻画传神。
羊为祥瑞之征，寓意吉祥，历来为人们所喜爱。《易经》有云：“十月为坤卦，纯阴之象。十一月为复卦，一阳生于下。十二月为临卦，二阳在下。下月为泰卦，三阳大下”，因此“三阳开泰”寓意春回大地，万象更新。整器古拙而灵动，造型巧妙，华美外溢，温润其中。鲜活的体现出羊的神气与隽秀，呈现出典雅静谧之美，实为玉器圆雕精品。
