A PAIR OF YELLOW GLAZED BRUSHPOTS WITH APPLIED DECORATIONS, LATE QING China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912). Each of cylindrical form, covered overall in a lemon-yellow glaze, and applied in relief with a blossoming plum tree with buds and flowers to one side and a lone butterfly to the other, the recessed base with an apocryphal six-character seal script Qianlong mark. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.
