18th Century Qing Dynasty Chinese Tibetan gilt bronze Buddha Arhat (Tibetan: ne tan): a Sanskrit term for Buddhist saints. This standing Arhats are likely to be depictions of Shariputra or Maudgalyayana, the Buddha Shakyamuni two foremost disciples. In his standard iconographic form with the two hands performing the Dharma Teaching mudra (gesture). standing on the Lotus blossoms. He wears the full robes of an ordained monk with open right chest. Surrounded with Aura Chakra Nimbus and Mandoria surrounding the body. Underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra mark surrounding the centralized DaiJi. Extensive trace of gilt remain on surface.
