A Chinese Blue and White Ginger Jar and Cover Of ovoid form with flat base and wide shoulder, decorated in underglaze blue, the body with two large quatrefoil panels, each containing a different scene: one of five boys playing in a terraced garden, the other with a lady bearing a ruyi sceptre and riding a mystical kylin, three boys bearing halberds, with large shou characters between the panels, the domed cover similarly decorated with boys at play, the glazed base with a double circle in underglaze blue.
