Stefaia Moldovan ( Sieu-Odorhei 1929 - Budapest 2012) Moldovan was born in Transylvania, Romania; His father was of Armenian descent. [2] In 1944, his family moved to Hungary. [2]Moldovan studied singing at the Academy of Music Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest from 1948 to 1953 as a student at Jeno Sipos. Her singing career began as a chorister. He made his debut as an opera singer in 1954 at the Opera Theater of Szeged in the role of Mimi in La Bohème. [1] From 1954 to 1961 he was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Opera Theater of Szeged. In 1961 she was hired by the Opera National in Budapest, which remained a permanent member of the ensemble for over 25 years until his retirement.Moldovan will mainly sang the dramatic fach young soprano; the focal points of his repertoire were the female roles in the works of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini. Moldovan has also sung in Hungarian, German repertoire of opera roles: Leonore in Fidelio, Agathe in Der Freischütz and Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer. Other roles were Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and Melinda opera Bánk bán by Ferenc Erkel.In October 1964, he appeared in the world premiere of Blood Wedding Sándor Szokolay the Budapest State Opera.Moldovan has made appearances at the Bolshoi Theater, Leningrad, Prague, Warsaw, Brno and, in the German-speaking world, the Berlin State Opera and Komische Oper Berlin.Moldovan has lived the last time in Budapest in a nursing home and care for artists.Autographed photos of famous soprano.
