The audition was a success, so he made his debut at the Met in 1919, remaining in the US metropolis until 1923. He later went to Italy to continue his studies with Dante Lari and Fernando Tanara switching to tenor register. The new look debuted at the San Carlo in Naples as Raoul them The Huguenots, continuing his career between Italy and South America. He played in Turin for the first time Verdi's Otello in 1926, a role with which then made his debut at the Royal Opera House in London and that gave him more fame. On 29 April 1930 he sang in the premiere of The foreign Ildebrando Pizzetti at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
