Maria Carbone Rossini (Castellammare di Stabia 1908 – Roma 2002) In 1929 he debuted at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples in Boito's Mefistofele, and soon after in Micaela in Carmen and Mimì in La bohème. It was a great Mascagnian soprano, of which he played virtually all the major soprano roles (in Guglielmo Ratcliff Lodoletta Pinotta, Masks, Parisina, Isabeau, Il Piccolo Marat, the last two in the years 1932-40). It was a fine musician, and his vast repertoire also included the works of contemporaries: Mary of Egypt and Lucretia by Ottorino Respighi, Brother Gerard, Deborah and Jael Ildebrando Pizzetti and The foreign and Cyrano de Bergerac by Franco Alfano. He also took part in some premieres, including Antony and Cleopatra Malipiero (at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 1938), Turandot by Busoni 1940, Hecuba Malipiero (Rome Opera in 1941), The banner of Saint George Peragallo ( Genoa 1941). He often sang in important tours abroad. Portrait photo autographed. Photography; 17x26 cm Excellent condition
