Giacomo Aragall, nome d'arte di Jaume Aragall i Garriga (Barcellona 1939) After studies in Barcelona under the direction of Jaime Puig Francisco, he moved to Milan where he studied with Maestro Vladimir Badiali. After winning the competition in 1963 Verdi Voices in Busseto, the same year he made his debut at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in I Lombardi in the first Crusade. They followed L'amico Fritz, Cardillac by Paul Hindemith and La bohème at the Teatro alla Scala. In the following season he was at the Teatro Liceu in Barcelona and soon after in Budapest, Genoa, Palermo, Parma, Naples, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Torino and again at the Fenice in Venice. In 1966 he played Romeo in a memorable performance of I Capuleti e i Montecchi by Bellini at the Teatro alla Scala. Later she sang in the most important theaters in the world, in works such as Lucia di Lammermoor, Madama Butterfly, The favorite, La traviata, Werther, Faust, Tosca, Manon, Don Carlo, Adriana Lecouvreur, A Masked Ball, Simon Boccanegra. The repertoire also included lesser-known works, such as Esclarmonde of Jules Massenet, recorded with Joan Sutherland, and Caterina Cornaro by Donizetti, performed with Montserrat Caballé.
