Paolo Washington (Firenze 1932-2008) He studied at the school of the Municipal Theater in Florence with Flaminio Contini and Bruno Bartoletti, debuting in the same theater in supporting roles in the 1953-54 season and starting to address parts of the protagonist next season with the role of Zaccaria in Nabucco. In 1958 he appeared for the first time at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in The Lady of the Lake and was present regularly since the sixties in the major Italian opera houses: La Scala, the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Florence, Massimo di Palermo, San Carlo in Naples, Comunale di Bologna, Verona Arena. He led also extensive international activities, appearing in major European locations: State Opera of Vienna, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, ​​Teatro La Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, the Edinburgh Festival, and American Metropolitan Opera House , Lyric Opera of Chicago, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
