An important mid 19th century Italian white Carrara marble chimney piece, carved in the rococo taste, with seated putti, foliage swags over scrolled corbels, beneath a bevelled serpentine shaped top 177cm wide, 45cm deep centrally (maximum), 128cm high maximum This lot may be viewed in situ, in a Lewes property, a short walk from Gorringe’s galleries. Prearranged appointments to view on Saturday morning, 26th June, between 9.30 and 12.30, may be made by contacting Gorringe’s on 01273 - 472503 Prospective viewers will be asked to provide proof of identity, either a passport or a driving license, a copy of which will be taken. A member of Gorringe’s staff will also attend. Buyers to remove the chimneypiece, within three weeks of purchase, to include removing all residue, resulting from dismantling.
