A Louis XV Style White-Painted and Parcel-Gilt Marble-Topped Jardinière L’Escalier de Cristal, Paris, late 19th century The sienna marble top above a frieze carved with guilloche and flower head designs, raised on three scroll supports united by a faux marble triform base surmounted by an urn and ending in bun feet, underside stamped 'l'Escalier de Cristal, Paris.' (H: 29 1/2, Dia: 16 in.) Provenance Collection of Robert & Barbara Safford, Vaux Hill, Audubon, Pennsylvania. Freeman’s, Philadelphia, September 25, 2013, lot 126. Acquired directly from the above sale. Private Collection, Long Island, New York. Condition report: Marble top with old break to the marble repaired from the underside; wear and abrasions in a circular pattern to top surface. Frame with chips and losses to painted and gilt surfaces.
