黄花梨此作由中国工艺美术大师包天伟制。通体取黄花梨大料整板，箱体尺寸硕大。五面皆精雕细刻，顶面雕刻“六龙捧寿纹”，龙身舒展灵动，龙头龙尾衔接延绵，“寿字纹”融合如意、蝙蝠、卷草等多种吉祥意象，寓意完满。螭龙形象既有青铜器之古朴，又融合蝌蚪般的可爱动态，以浮雕技法，万字锦地纹托底，将瑞兽的威严和生活的情趣都悉数刻画。箱体侧面螭龙数量也取“双十”，寓意“十全十美”。整器榫卯组合而成，下设托泥，雕刻纹饰四周起线环绕，细节精湛，“百宝箱”的美名当之无愧。
