款识：“胡文明制”篆书款
说明：此件香盒以黄铜制成，盒身扁圆，子母口，口对接处皆起线，矮圈足。盒盖盒身以麻点为地，鎏金厚实，其上以高浮雕技法铸制灵芝花卉纹案，并施鎏金工艺。盒底有“胡文明制”四字篆书款。整器制做精美，皮壳包浆厚重，置于案头赏玩皆宜。胡文明，明万历年间铸铜工艺名匠，云间（江苏松江府，今属上海）人，擅长铸造铜炉与文房用具，能按古代制式造彝、鼎、尊、卣之类极为精致的铜器，在当时即为世人所珍，艺术成就极高，时称「胡炉」，或称「胡铜」。诸多铜器上镌刻有其名款。
