金刚萨埵是金刚持之一，金刚持有很多位，其中法身普贤、第六金刚持就是金刚萨埵。金刚萨埵是藏传佛教密宗极为推崇的圣尊，常持本尊真言，能破除烦恼，止诸恶念，生诸功德。金刚萨埵头戴宝冠，额际宽广，容颜俊美，微笑的面庞略似尼泊尔人的面貌特征。双手分别持金刚铃和金刚杵，这是其身份的标志。身戴璎珞钏环，皆镶嵌绿松石、红珊瑚等宝石，显得珠光宝器、高贵华美。造像宽肩细腰、比例合度，莲瓣饱满圆润，显示出高超的工艺水平。品相完美无缺，是难得的明代西藏佳作。
