《西厢记》于明末清初之际广为流行，康熙时期更是成为瓷器绘画上的经典题材，盛传一时。口沿外翻，内口沿满绘锦地纹饰，碗心绘青花五子蹴鞠图，属同类器物中较为少见的碗心纹饰。外壁以连环画方式绘《西厢记》故事四组，青花发色鲜艳，细节描绘精致，人物造型生动，其中所绘张生与崔莺莺的爱情故事，两幅场景较为少见，别有意味。碗底于青花双圈内落楷书双行本朝款。
