Shio Fujimoto (1927～2009), graduated from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law, Tokyo Imperial University, and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after passing the diplomatic exam in 1949. Since then, he has been active in political affairs in East Asia and Southeast Asia. He traveled around various countries and collected artworks from all over the asia, after retiring from office, he served as the chairman of the Japan Institute of International Studies for a long time.
