Y A Visakhapatnam (Vizagapatam) sandalwood and engraved ivory writing slope, second quarter 19th century, all over banding with trailing floral decoration, with fitted interior with slope and three compartments, 12cm high, 38cm wide, 29cm deep Condition Report: Marks, scratches, cracks and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Overall in untouched condition. The top with traces of ebonisation rubbed on the reeded sections. Lacking sections of ivory banding in particular to the corner areas. Lacking the key, the hinges and lock tarnished. The interior compartment lids with two knops damaged. The writing slope with worn and torn silk velvet so that one section is loose.
