款识简介:孟臣，惠孟臣，传为明天启、崇祯间宜兴制壶名手(一说孟臣为清康熙、雍正间人)。江苏宜兴人，生卒不详，孟臣名号有君德、思亭等，孟臣是晚年自号，为时大彬后一名手。孟臣制壶，大壶浑朴，小壶精妙，笔法类褚河南。清·吴骞《阳羡名陶录。家溯》、日·奥兰田《茗壶图录》、民国李景康、张虹《阳羡砂壶图考·别传》等著录中皆对孟臣开篇详加叙述。
