Measurements: 16.625in x9.25in x 9.25in Chinese Ming Dynasty period, blue monochrome glazed porcelain meiping jar. The porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. All reserved in an even coat of a deep blue glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white under glaze. Meticulous finish sgrafitto dragon carving beneath the attractive egg-yolk-yellow monochrome glazed covers the delicate clay, showing silky smooth sheen and conforming the dragon design. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks with edge-cut foot rim.
