East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, Kang Hsi (also Kangxi) period, ca. 1661 to 1722 CE. A beautiful blue on white porcelain bowl with scrolling floral patterns. The bowl rests on a short ring base with a four-character mark for the Kang Hsi (Kangxi) reign in a pale underglaze blue. The walls swell gently outward, presenting the intricate vine and lotus flower motif. The interior rim continues the foliate program with leafy branches. The central medallion on the basin features the dense, scrolling vines surrounding a lotus flower. This bowl is beautifully preserved with vibrant cobalt hues!
