A 19th Century Italian fruitwood cassone chest coffer blanket box. The chest of good size with recessed panel fronts and sides decorated with scenes of mythical creatures and wrought iron drop handles. The hinged lid opening to reveal a spacious interior with long wrought metal hinged and candlebox section. Measures approx; 62cm x 145cm x 59cm. Wear commensurate with age with some heavier marks to the lid and partial side piece loose.
