13th-12th century BC. A convex bronze decorative disc, ornamented with embossed concentric circles, the central one formed by a series of six circlets framed by nine additional embossed discs with central dots, on the back a ring for fastening. See a fragment of a similar decorative disc in Vinski-Gasparini, K., Kultura Polja sa zarama u Sjevernoj Hrvatskoj (Die Urnenfelderkulturur in Nordkrotatien), Zadar, 1979, pl.79, no.4; cf. for a similar disc Mörtz, T., ‘At the Head of Concealment. The Deposition of Bronze Age Helmets in the Carpathian Basin’ in Berecki, S. & Németh, R.E., Rezi, B. (eds.), Bronze Age Rites and Ritual in the Carpathian Basin. Proceedings of the International Colloquium from Târgu Mure?, 8-10 October 2010. Bibliotheca Musei Marisiensis, Seria Archaeologica IV, Târgu Mure? 2011, pp.357-376, fig.1. 123 grams, 22cm (8 1/2"). Property of a gentleman from Vienna; from his private collection formed since 1970. At the site of Budinscina, in Croatia, similar decorative discs were found in fragments, together with 219 other bronze objects: bracelets, collars, bronze sheets of vessels and belts, sickles and swords. Similar bronze discs were found also in Bingula-Divos (Vinski-Gasparini, 1979, pl.86 no.1) These objects are characteristic of the so-called Urnenfelderkultur in Central Europe. It is highly probable they served as horse harness fittings. A similar phalera has also been found in the hoard of Nadap.
