See Fodor, I., Revesz, L., Wolf, M., Nepper, I.M., Morigi Govi, C., Gli Antichi Ungari, nascita di una nazione, Bologna, 1998, p.99, cat. no.45 (horse bit); 103, cat. no.134 (hilt of sabre); 104, cat. no.184 (chape of a scabbard), and also pp.138-139 for type of decoration of the mount; for the buckles see Escher, K., Genèse et évolution du deuxième royaume burgonde (443-534) : les témoins archéologiques (British Archaeological Report, S-1402), 2 vol., Oxford, 2005, cat. no.01BO23. 20.7 grams total, 18-33mm (3/4 - 1 1/4"). From a central London collection; previously in a European collection formed 1979-1989. K. Escher distinguished two different kind of these buckles: These buckle plates exist in a large model for a belt and in a pair of small models for shoes or garters. They are related to similarly shaped buckle plates, bearing three rivets around a decoration of partitioned jewels. [3, No Reserve]
