A Style I gilt discoid mount with central polished domed garnet, three trapezoidal cells to the circumference lined with gold foil, two set with polished garnet slices, chip-carved geometric and pellet motifs around; pierced for attachment. See The British Museum, museum number 1050.'70, for very similar. 8.52 grams, 32mm (1 1/4"). Found East Anglia, UK. Possibly once a disc brooch, pierced at a later date for reuse.
