A group of four early medieval British lead and pewter seals, each accompanied by a modern museum-quality impression, transcription and translation: H706: discoid personal seal matrix with clear legend S’IGILE PETRI DE LVCEBI, (seal of Peter of Ulceby), central floral design; H707: a large and heavy vesica-shaped personal seal matrix with legend S HVG LEMVN; (seal of Hugh Lemun), central fish motif; H708: a rare vesica-shaped pewter personal seal matrix with legend S'IGIL EMBER(?) DE CLAIPOL (seal of Ember of Claypole), surrounding a tree topped by a bird with wings spread; H709: a vesica-shaped personal seal matrix with legend S'WILI BVLLCEH; (seal of William Bullceh), central cross within a circle, decorated reverse. 96 grams total, 30-45mm (1 1/4 - 1 3/4").
