The matrix is not a personal seal, but would have been purchased 'off the shelf', and represents a seal of somebody who commissioned it to be used as his own personal seal. The monogram is bearing the Greek letters X and P i.e. the initials of Christ, but the Chrismon was widely used in the Western World, especially by clergy.
