A cylindrical copper-alloy vessel, the body with two panels depicting religious scenes with figures, being the washing of the feet of Jesus and Mary riding a donkey with Joseph carrying the infant Jesus, some figures nimbate; all with cloisonné coloured enamels against an enamelled background, with two cast, crowned figures of saints affixed at sides; the top rim with hinge where once a lid was fitted; the base of the vessel now lacking; with a separate stand with cast legs, two depicting bearded heads with finials and the other two acting as plinths for the body figures; possibly of French workmanship. 2.4 kg, 21cm (8 1/4").
