A terracotta cup comprising a round-bottomed vessel with tapering sidewall and carination to the shoulder, rolled rim; single strap handle; painted bands to the rim, shoulder and handle. 379 grams, 12.5cm (5"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired by Eric Crowe, son of diplomat Sir Eyre Crowe (1864-1925), when he was posted to Tehran as a British diplomat between 1939-1941; thence by descent to Sir Brian Crowe (1938-2020) and family.
