A bronze figure of a stylised bird with hooked beak and disc eye, long ribbed neck and piriform body, feather detailing to the wings and tail, columnar legs with open claws; mounted on a custom-made stand. 1.1 kg total, 31cm including stand (12 1/4"). Property of a London gentleman; formerly with Mahboubian Gallery of Ancient Art, New York, USA; accompanied by a copy of the purchase invoice, dated 20 March 1971; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no.10849-177894.
