6th-8th century AD. A silver tabula ansata-shaped pendant with rectangular body and rhomboidal terminals, with stone or glass inlays of varying colours; suspension loop to one end. See Trois Donations Byzantines Au Cabinet Des Medailles, Paris, 2001, p.8, for a bronze tablet with chain of similar form. 4.3 grams, 45mm (1 3/4"). From a private family collection formed in London from the mid 1980s-early 1990s.
