A POLYCHROME AND GILT PAINTED SOFTWOOD FIGURE OF A CHILD BEARING AN APPLE ITALIAN OR SPANISH, 18TH CENTURY Depicted standing by a column, with inset glass eyes 73.5cm high, 37.5cm wide Condition Report: There are marks, scratches, scuffs and abrasions consistent with age and use. The figure and base are of sectional construction with some of the joints visible where the gesso and paint has cracked over the underlying joints. The paintwork has cracks and is missing in some areas revealing the underlying gesso and wood. The figure is not quite securely fixed and has a later nail fixing the foot to the column; the column has some movement to it.
