A GEORGE III MAHOGANY AND BRASS BOUND PEAT BUCKET THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY Of coopered form 45cm high (not including handle), 37cm diameter Condition Report: Marks, scratches, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and wear. Some of the coopered mahogany sections are loose in the brass bands. There are some additional cracks and chips to the sectional construction cracks. There are some screws to the brass bands that are not at regular intervals suggesting that some are of a later date, though some might have been applied long ago. Some tears and repairs to the brass bands. The base has cracks and chips and due to the movement of the sides has a gap to one area where it meets the sides. Overall the patina has some crackelure.
