A Chinese blue and white porcelain snuff bottle with a 4-character Daoguang mark and of the period. The snuff bottle depicts guardian lions flying among clouds. Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide, 6.99 cm X 3.18 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: A large chip to the rim has been ground down, the stone stopper is unattached, and "CHINA" is incised near the foot. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Pitts in Southern Virginia.
