熏炉为铜铸，骏马为炉，仙人为盖，通体原有鎏金，传承年代久远，金色斑驳，再附之以浓厚的包浆，古雅凝重。 高士骑跨于马背之上，身躯前倚，泰然自若。头戴皂角帽，长须垂胸，慈眉善目，略微含笑。着交领内衫，外披道袍，衣褶简练流畅，衣缘錾以卷草纹。马儿身膘体肥，双耳俏立，圆目炯炯，鬃毛利落，长尾飘逸，右前足抬起，作底首漫步状，形神兼备，逸趣横生。 此件铜熏表现的主题，猜想或为“踏雪寻梅”之孟浩然，典故出自张岱《夜航船》曰：“吾诗思在灞桥风雪中驴背上”，后以亦形容文人雅士赏爱风景苦心作诗的情致。工匠以其精湛的工艺，巧妙地构思展现了一幅骑行寻梅的场面，可远观可细究，是一件极具观赏性和收藏价值的艺术珍品。
