拍品形制规整敦雅，小器大样，胎质坚缜细腻。外壁以青花环绘达摩一苇渡江图为饰，江水浩渺，洞石嶙峋，达摩肩负包裹，内载经书，涉水而过，岸上可见二僧手捧经文，凝神诵读，隙地加绘山石云雾，庭院阑干，草木葱茂。纹饰构图舒朗，人物生动形象，青花发色妍丽，置于案头，可赏可玩。 达摩祖师，原名菩提多罗，出生于印度，南朝梁时远渡至中国，北行一路传扬佛法，为大乘佛教中国禅宗始祖。相传达摩与梁武帝谈论佛法教化不成后，在长江边折取一支芦苇投入江中，脚踏苇枝飘然过江。
