John Dickinson (American, 1919-1982) Twig Lamp, designed circa 1975, produced later, Sutherland Galvanized steel, painted plaster 31-3/4 x 18-3/4 inches (80.6 x 47.6 cm) Stamped SUTHERLANDS plaque to underside David Sutherland, who met John Dickinson in the late 1970s, became close friends with the designer and began to represent Dickinson's furniture in his Texas showrooms in 1980. In Dickinson's work, Sutherland saw a unique, elegant and confident sense of style. He worked closely with the designer to establish a group of works that could be produced under the approval of his estate under Sutherland's supervision.
