此对墨彩杯方形，撇口，深壁，平底，矮足，胎厚重，造型新颖奇巧。内壁施松石绿釉，青翠怡人，外壁以墨彩作山水人物画面，画面构图紧凑有致，元素众多，画面整体毫无凌乱之感，反应出古代工匠高超的工艺技巧。
本品非一般工匠可以烧成，因为景德镇自古便有「一方顶十圆」一说，此形碗成型需将坯泥制成片状粘接而成，制作工艺较圆器复杂，明王世懋《窥天外乘》记：「盖窑器圆者，旋之立就，倏忽若神。独方物即至小，亦须手捻而成，最难完整。」
